- Dispense (1) single pump of Vitamin C Lotion 20% and gently apply a thin layer.
- Keep Vitamin C Lotion 20% away from your eyes, lips and mouth.
- Avoid layering with acids or benzoyl peroxide at the same time as it can change the Vitamin C’s pH and render it useless.

- If your skin is sensitive, you can apply Vitamin C Lotion 20% only in the morning, or even every other day to build up to the total benefits that it can offer.
- Keep your Vitamin C Lotion 20% at room temperature and out of the sunlight.
What it Helps
What it Helps
- Acne and Rosacea: anti-inflammatory properties help reduce redness, swelling and severity of flare-ups. We recommend using in combination with our Azelaic Acid 14% Cream
- Hyperpigmentation: blocks the action of an enzyme called tyrosinase, which is essential for the formation of the pigment melanin melasma, and helps reduce post acne scars and lesions, age spots, sun damage
- Anti-aging: Supports the production of collagen and neutralize free radicals to help improve brightening, firmness, fine lines, wrinkles, dullness, texture.
What to Expect
What to Expect
After 4 Weeks
When it comes to Vitamin C, the sweet spot for beginning to see changes is around 4 weeks. This gives our skin the chance to go through one renewal cycle — where skin sheds dead skin cells and replaces them with fresh new ones.
At the 4-week marker, you may notice a change in radiance, lightened hyperpigmentation, and increased firmness or tightening effect. As long as you stay consistent using Vitamin C and protected from the sun, these results can remain and continue to improve.
Dermatologist Do’s and Don’ts
Dermatologist Do’s and Don’ts
The Do’s
- Protect with a minimum SPF 30 (50 preferred) mineral-based broad spectrum sunscreen in the morning and as the last product in your skincare routine. Important to note that Vitamin C makes skin extra sensitive to the sun.
- Apply a single pump! Vitamin C has a reservoir effect, where just a small amount can last nearly all day.
- Take Spectrum supplement, for skincare from the inside, to fortify against sun damage and support skin renewal.
- Safeguard your Vitamin C’s potency and effectiveness by keeping it airtight, at room temperature and out of the sun.
The Don’ts
- Avoid using acids or benzoyl peroxide at the same time as it can change the Vitamin C’s pH and render it useless.
- Be careful not to apply too closely around your eyes as direct contact with the eyes may cause irritation.
- If dryness or irritation occurs change use to every other day until your skin adjusts.
- Don’t hesitate to moisturize if you feel you need it! Our Hyaluronic Acid Lotion is a great option.

What are the benefits of Vitamin C Lotion?
Vitamin C has the potential to create life changing results for your skin when used correctly. The results can be summarized in two words: “brightening” and “tightening.”
Vitamin C Lotion is an antioxidant that absorbs free radicals and environmental stressors. It evens out and brightens skin tone, reduces fine lines and wrinkles, all while reducing inflammation.
In lotion form, there is the added benefit of a hydrating base that helps to moisturize. We recommend an extra layer of moisturizing to further restore skin with our Hyaluronic Acid Lotion.
When should I use Vitamin C Lotion in my skincare routine?
Vitamin C Lotion 20% can be a part of your morning and evening skincare routine. Use it in the morning to protect skin from free radicals and to encourage collagen production throughout the day. (Tip: Remember to apply before your sun protection.)
For your nightly regimen apply Vitamin C Lotion 20% before a retinol – we recommend Night Renewal Cream with 2% Granactive™ Retinol. Use these two in combo to both produce and stimulate collagen while you sleep! As Retinols can break down quickly when exposed to sunlight, they are best applied at night when skin repairs itself. Retinols are considered best in class for the appearance of fine line, wrinkles and your basic signs of aging.
In what order should I layer other skincare products?
1. Cleanser: Wash and remove impurities
2. Toner: Although most derms don’t really recommend a toner based on the traditional alcohol based products, most of the current toners are just very thin serums or liquids with antioxidants and vitamins. Soaps are not as harsh as they once were so there is no need to neutralize their basic pH in most cases.
3. Serum (or antioxidant): In our case the Vitamin C Lotion 20% and Niacinamide Lotion 10%
4. Retinol: (night only) We recommend Night Renewal Cream with 2% Granactive™ Retinoid
5. Moisturizer: We recommend our Hyaluronic Acid Lotion for its hydrating effect, otherwise a different heavier lotion
6. Active: Azelaic Acid 14% Cream to help skin conditions and can be used day and night depending skin sensitivity
7. Sunscreen: (daily) A minimum of SPF 30, we prefer 50 mineral-based broad-spectrum sunscreen
Is Vitamin C Lotion better than a Vitamin C serum?
Vitamin C Lotion achieves the same results as a Vitamin C Serum, but our Lotion with its 20% concentration includes the added benefit of a moisturizing base and Vitamin E for extra antioxidant power to help boost results.
Are there any side effects from using Vitamin C Lotion?
Overall, Vitamin C is an incredibly safe product to use both topically and orally. Its status as a water-soluble vitamin means that any excess will be passed out of the body in the urine, which means it is very hard to overdose on, or experience toxicity or negative side effects.
However, due to its naturally acidic nature, Vitamin C may slightly irritate sensitive skin. This is especially true for new Vitamin C users, or those with sensitive skin. For a lower risk of having issues when starting out on Vitamin C, start slow. Instead of using it twice a day, start out by using it just a few times a week. Once you’re sure that your skin is adjusting well, you can increase it slowly until you reach your optimal application amount.
